Lanzarote is an island full of contrasts and extraordinary nature. Volcanoes, lava fields, white villages, palm trees and turquoise waters create a landscape unlike anywhere else. The island is part of the Canary Islands and is located in the Atlantic Ocean close to the African coast. Thanks to its location, Lanzarote enjoys one of the most pleasant climates in Europe. The cooling northeast trade winds together with the warm Canary Current keep temperatures mild throughout the year. Winters are sunny and comfortable, while summers are warm without extreme heat. This is why the Canary Islands are often called the Islands of Eternal Spring.

Lanzarote is famous for its impressive volcanic landscapes. In Timanfaya National Park you can still feel the power of the volcanoes that shaped the island hundreds of years ago. In some areas the heat beneath the ground can still be clearly felt today. Parts of the landscape almost look like another planet. But Lanzarote offers much more than volcanoes alone. The island is home to beautiful beaches, lively promenades, peaceful bays and crystal-clear water. Places such as Puerto del Carmen, Playa Blanca and Costa Teguise each have their own unique atmosphere.

Underwater, Lanzarote is also a true paradise. Thanks to the clear Atlantic waters and volcanic seabed, the island is very popular with divers and snorkellers from around the world. Colourful fish, rays, barracudas and even turtles can often be seen here. Another special part of Lanzarote is the work of artist and architect César Manrique. He played a major role in preserving the island’s authentic character. Thanks to his vision, there are very few high-rise buildings, and many structures blend naturally into the surrounding landscape. His influence can still be seen all over the island. Lanzarote is also well known for its unique wine region, La Geria. Here, vines grow in black volcanic ash and are protected from the wind by semicircular stone walls. The result is a landscape found nowhere else in the world. And perhaps the best part of all.

On Lanzarote, time seems to slow down a little. The peace, open space, special light and wonderful climate make it the perfect place to relax, recharge and enjoy the sun, sea and nature.
